Perry Wasserman is an attorney in the firm’s Baltimore office, with significant experience litigating high-profile, complex matters and leading large-scale investigations into alleged instances of police misconduct. His practice focuses primarily on representing municipalities and police officers in civil rights litigation and claims brought under Section 1983.
Prior to joining Nathan & Kamionski LLP, Mr. Wasserman was selected to help establish the Independent Investigations Division at the Maryland Office of the Attorney General. Here, he developed the policies and procedures that now govern comprehensive investigations into all police officer-involved fatalities occurring in Maryland. In addition to serving as the lead attorney on numerous officer-involved shootings, use-of-force incidents, in-custody deaths, and police pursuits, Mr. Wasserman authored detailed public reports, drafted legislation and provided testimony, and conducted extensive outreach with key stakeholders.
Earlier in his legal career, Mr. Wasserman served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Baltimore County for over a decade, trying scores of major cases to verdict in jury and bench trials, including many homicides, violent crimes, and special victim cases.
