ALISON ROMELFANGER

Allison has 14 years of litigation experience, with 10 years specifically focused on the defense of police officers in complex civil litigation. Prior to joining Nathan & Kamionski, Allison practiced at a litigation firm concentrating on similar municipal defense work, where she was promoted to Partner and assisted in developing and refining the firm’s discovery practices. She also served as a Supervisor Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago, Department of Law, for approximately 6 years.

Allison focuses her practice on the defense of municipalities and public officials, with a particular emphasis on representing police officers in all aspects of Section 1983 cases in both state and federal court. As a Partner and former Supervisor Assistant Corporation Counsel, Allison successfully handled complex civil rights matters from inception through trial, including cases involving high-profile reversed convictions, police involved shootings and use of force, and cases alleging false arrest and malicious prosecution. Her previous experience provides her with a deep understanding of the legal and practical challenges faced by public entities and their employees.
